Summary
In recent GMC training surveys, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust have consistently received excellent feedback regarding the culture, education and training provided to our doctors in Emergency Medicine.
Clinical role: Tier 3 rota – predominantly covering PEM, but would be expected to also work across the ED as required
Non-Clinical role: Aid with development of PEM across the ED’s
Split 60:40 (non-clinical time would predominantly be taken from in-hours rota)
Successful applicants will work on our annualised rota which has been recently re-designed to encourage a good work life balance.
During clinical time, you will be expected to focus on the assessment and early management of patients who are acutely ill and injured as well as treating patients with less serious illnesses and injuries.

We are inviting applications in the Emergency Medicine Department at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust for Clinical Fellows at ST3 Level. Although not recognised training posts, there is access to regular weekly teaching with the intention that the service commitment, supervision level and educational opportunities will be equivalent to that of our existing trainees and mirrors a training post in every way. You will be offered first class training and development opportunities to enhance your career.
This job would be ideally suited for doctors taking time out after the completion of their foundation training who have a keen interest in a career in emergency medicine and would like to develop their portfolio.
At CHFT we like to look after our doctors and have received very positive feedback in the GMC national training surveys. For this post we are willing to consider applicants who wish to work LTFT and those would prefer an entirely clinical role. We have recently expanded our junior doctor numbers in order to provide better rotas to allow a good work life balance and continue to strive to achieve an even better balance in the coming years.
