We deliver an integrated Design, Contract and Project management service based on strong links between our Building Services and Consultancy Services sections and private sector construction professionals and contractors therefore having the ability to interact constructively with a variety of stakeholders and partners is an essential requirement of the post.

Housing and Technical Resources wish to appoint a Civil/Structural Engineer to assist in the effective delivery of a comprehensive service relative to the council’s Capital and Revenue Expenditure programme. To undertake this role, you will require to have an HND or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and possess equivalent relevant experience in the use of AutoCAD and also experience in the use of Revit software programmes would be advantageous.

You should demonstrate a commitment to the principles of customer care, while displaying excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate previous experience of working to targets and pre-determined timescales along with an awareness of health and safety in the workplace. It is essential that you have a proven track record of working within a property/ construction environment and you will display professionalism and demonstrate excellent communication skills. As part of our approach to good practice and safer recruitment we carry out a number of pre-employment checks for example, Identity, Asylum and Immigration and employment history etc.

As this post involves accessing the public services network, the preferred candidate will be subject to the Baseline Personnel Security Standards (BPSS). The preferred candidate will be subject to a Basic Disclosure provided by Disclosure Scotland prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
