Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Arc Community Hub, Knox Rd, Loughborough and we are now seeking to appoint a Caretaker to be responsible for general caretaking and maintenance tasks. The post holder will work in a small team to maintain our centre for the benefit of the local community. Experience in a similar role desirable but not essential.
Contract:
9 months rolling contract
8 hrs/week
Flexibility of working hours will be necessary
Caretaker job profile
Primary responsibilities:
Assist with locking/unlocking
General site maintenance, equipment storage and repairs
Heating and lighting maintenance and monitoring
Assistance with the setting up and clearing down of Arc activities and events
Testing fire alarms and reporting
Working to approved budgets
Liaising with and managing contractors whilst they are on site
Monitoring and maintaining a maintenance inventory
Reporting of any defects or equipment failures
Maintenance of car park
Maintaining the paths and entrances free of snow and ice to ensure safety is maintained to staff and visitors
Liaising with other Ops Team members and helping the team as required
Liaising and working with other volunteers on team maintenance and projects
Secondary responsibilities: (additional responsibilities, time dependent actions)
Assisting with arranging maintenance contracts and ordering materials
Painting and decoration
Identifying and planning maintenance requirements for upcoming site needs
Sourcing replacement fixtures and fittings, contacting and meeting contractors when in house repairs are not possible
Assist with site cleaning, landscaping, gardening, etc where necessary by providing cover
Supervising volunteer maintenance activities
Any additional work requested by the Ops Manager
Operational requirements:
Undertake induction and safeguarding training and general H&S training
Maintain compliance with The Arc policies and procedures
Work within H&S legislation and compliance with, for example, manual handling, COSHH requirements, use of PPE, etc.
Willing to uphold the aims and values of The Arc
Hard working, honest and dependable, self-motivated person to act as The Arc Caretaker
