Job Title: Rigger Port Operative
Location: Sheerness
Shift: Varies depending on vessel schedule (6 am - 6 pm / 6 pm - 6 am)
Pay Rate: From £12 per hour
Preferably drivers due to site location.
Job Role:
Join our team as a Rigger Port Operative and play a vital role in the UK's supply chain, facilitating the efficient movement of cargo from discharge to distribution. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working on vessels to ensure the safe discharging of cargo
- Unleashing and securing cargo on vessels
- Ensuring the safe flow of traffic while acting as a banksman/traffic marshal
- Collaborating effectively as part of a team
Qualifications:
- Manual Handling
- Working at Height
- Confined Space Awareness
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Safety-Focused: Always health and safety conscious
- Licensed: Holds a full UK driving licence
- Experienced: Previous experience as a port operative is preferred
- Team-Oriented: Committed to completing work safely and on time, with a flexible approach to tasks
- Test-Ready: Capable of passing port-specific tests, including drug and alcohol testing
- Weather-Resilient: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
