Access to own vehicle preferred due to site location.

Job Role:

Join our team as a Port Operative and play a vital role in the UK's supply chain, facilitating the efficient movement of cargo from discharge to distribution. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Stevedore Duties: Supporting the loading and unloading of cargo within the vessel
  • Equipment Operation: Operating various machinery, including Forklift Trucks (FLT), Tugs, and Reelers
  • Documentation: Completing necessary paperwork to ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Maintenance: Maintaining cleanliness in work areas and equipment
  • Traffic Management: Acting as a Traffic Marshall and Vehicle Banksman, ensuring safe vehicle movement

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Safety-Focused: Always health and safety conscious
  • Team Player: Committed to completing work safely and on time, with a flexible approach to tasks
  • Test-Ready: Able to pass port-specific tests, including drug and alcohol testing
  • Weather-Resilient: Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Has Manual Handling training

Desirable Criteria:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Valid or expired Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence
  • Valid or expired Tug licence
  • Experience in similar roles
