An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Homeless Assessment Team within the Housing Need service in Falkirk. This is a chance for a skilled and motivated individual to make a difference to the lives of people who are experiencing homelessness or are threatened with homelessness.

This role will involve working across Falkirk with responsibility for supporting and supervising a team of Homeless Assessment Officers providing mobile and flexible services in multiple locations. You will also be required to take a role in working with partner agencies to ensure a holistic approach to meeting vulnerable customers’ needs.

This role sits within the Housing Needs Service and provides a high demand, pressurised service which is solution and outcome focussed. You will ensure that your team are able to develop, deliver and maintain specialist knowledge of homelessness, housing options and support services within the Falkirk area and Scotland.

You will have a proven track record of working in an operational Homeless service and working across a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should possess excellent interpersonal skills and be able to relate to homeless people in a sympathetic manner. Tact and discretion are vital. Applicants should have knowledge of Housing and Homeless legislation along with qualifications in Housing or customer care. Experience of working with people in a vulnerable environment would be desirable.

This role is part time for two days working a Monday and Friday at 14.8 hours working in various locations across the Falkirk area. You will be required to be mobile across the council area.

You will work 14.8 hours per week.
