Summary

Our son lives at home with his younger brother and parents. He is a lovely young boy and has Down Syndrome. He needs some support before and after school.

He is very bubbly and enjoys spending time outdoors. He is pre-verbal, communicating through Makaton and gestures, however his speech is improving. He loves to learn, enjoys math's, phonics and reading books.

You will report to us the Parents

This advert may close before the stated date if sufficient applications are received.
We require support before school to help with feeding, dressing and getting ready for school which may involve toileting.

After school support is for feeding, homework and general play activities.

Would like support with helping our son become more independent.

Duties may also include:
Going to the local park for a walk.
Go shopping with him
Prompting with his personal hygiene if needed
To ensure safety at all times as our son is vulnerable and to be mindful of road safety etc


Friendly and approachable with a good sense of humour
Be patient with our son as he sometimes gets frustrated if he can’t do something he wants to

Experience with SEND children is essential, Makaton is preferable.

Car driver with class 1 business insurance on your vehicle
A DBS check will be required.

£12.45 per hour


Mornings 7-8:30am afternoons – 3:30-5pm
Mon-Fri.

Timings, days and hours have some flexibility. Please still apply if you are not able to do everyday or all mornings/afternoons.
