Summary
Support Plus Play Buddy
Training / experience / Qualifications
Some experience of working with young children / children with special educational needs is essential and a recognised professional qualification in Early Years work would be desirable.
Brief Description of the Job
To work within the childcare Support plus team, to provide educational support and care to an identified group of children who have additional support care, play and learning needs. To lead on the provision of Bruch and Snack times.at the start and end of your working day.
Support Plus Role
You will be allocated to work with up to 6 named children across the course of your working hours. You will support the children in your care, under the direction of the SENDCo, to deliver appropriate planned care and learning support to the children, based upon their specific and individual needs. Beyond the named children in your care will be the wider group of Nursery children with whom you will have contact. You will be trained to be able to provide key interventions and to attune to the child and truly observe their responses to you, the team, other children and to the environment. You will review and evaluate the effectiveness of the inclusion plans alongside the setting SENDCO (special educational needs development coordinator)
You will be key to ensuring that the children develop and thrive at a pace which is optimal for each individual child.
Play Buddy Role
At times when there are no named children allocated to you within your Support Plus working hours you will give your time to other children that have been recognised by the SENDCO as needing possible future Support Plus care. When required you may be asked to provide play support to a wider group of children who do not have identified needs.
