The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to diagnose mechanical issues effectively. The MOT Tester will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety of our clients' vehicles while providing excellent customer service.
Duties
- Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Inspect vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and exhaust systems for functionality and safety.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and recommend necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and services performed.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to customers in a clear and professional manner.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times within the workshop environment.
Skills
- Candidate must have 2 years experience.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex vehicle systems.
- Experience using hand tools effectively for various repair tasks.
- Familiarity with power tools is advantageous for performing repairs efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
