Job Title: Hospitality and Catering Instructor

Location: Trent Acres, Kings Bromley

Salary: Up to £15,825.00 per annum

Hours: 24 hours per week, 3 days 8.00am - 4.00pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Hospitality and Catering Instructor to join our close-knit team at Trent Acres, part of Options Autism.

Purpose of the Job:

To take a leading role in teaching Hospitality and Catering.
To work with senior leaders to develop the curriculum and teach qualification pathways in Hospitality and Catering.
To work under the guidance of SLT to raise the standard of Hospitality and Catering across the school.
Review, monitor and adapt curriculum matters in order to ensure a challenging, engaging and appropriate Food Technology curriculum is being delivered to all.
To share the school’s values and ethos to create a highly personalised curriculum to meet individuals needs in an environment that is nurturing and holistic.
Key Areas:

To contribute to raising standards of pupil progress and attainment in Hospitality and Catering.
To monitor and support the teaching and learning throughout Hospitality and Catering.
Under the direction of the Deputy Headteacher, ensure Hospitality and Catering is implemented, monitored and reviewed in order to analyse its effectiveness.
To have a solid understanding of the school pathways and ensuring suitable learning is taking place in all environments.
To have an understanding of appropriate vocational qualifications and ensure pupils are working towards these in key stage 4 and key stage 5.
Deliver enrichment and enhancement activities.
Liaise with the Deputy Head Teacher and the Senior Leadership team to communicate subject effectiveness and how this impacts the school.
To understand and support the development of appropriate sequences of learning that relate to the needs of learners in each pathway.
To model professional standards at all times in line with Professional Standards for Teachers.
About the school

Options Trent Acres School is currently undergoing development and increasing its pupils numbers transitioning from 30 pupils to 60 pupils recently and with approval to open an Early Years Unit and extend our Primary provision. Due to this exciting time for the School the job roles currently advertised are all new as part of this development.

The school is purpose built, modern and welcoming with a range of specialist learning areas including an indoor and outdoor riding school and outdoor gymnasium. Pupils also have the opportunity to work with our horses, donkeys, goats, alpaca and chickens. Learning outside of the classroom is a fundamental part of life at Trent Acres. We have a dedicated staff team who are focused on the delivery of high quality, pupil centred, bespoke packages of care and education.

Our service is in within easy reach of Stoke, Derby, Telford, Stafford, Lichfield, Burntwood, Rugeley, Burton-on-Trent, Tamworth, Uttoxeter and surrounding towns.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
