Westcall, the GP out of hours service for Berkshire West is looking foramotivated and driven individual to join ourteaminaBand 4 Supervisor positionin a fixed term post ending31 March 2025.
The successful applicant will be based atWokingham Community Hospital. You willtake the lead role of an out of hours referral team. Duties include operational leadership and supervision of the call handling/despatchingteamwhile on an operational shift,operational support to theWestcallOut of Hours Service,pro-active work force distribution and risk reporting,training of new and existing staff, carrying outregular performance audits,annual appraisal,performanceand touchpointmeetings, inductions for new staff, senior team meetings.The post requires exceptional team leadership skills,previousexperience of leading a team, despatchingexperienceand extensive knowledge of the Adastra and RIO patient management systems.
We are recruitingfor 36 hours a week to includethefollowing shifts
Tuesday 6pm-midnight (every other week)
Friday6pm to midnight
Saturday6pm to midnight
Sunday 7pm-midnight
Sundayfrom midnight to 8am on Monday
The post holders will also be expected to work Christmas days, Boxing days and other bank holidays which are our busiest periods.
• Induct,trainand assess trainee members of the operational staff on electronic and telephone systems. Ensure that members of staff are aware of and familiar with relevant clinical standards and operational procedures and protocols. Participate in auditing operational staff.Carrying outperformance management of a designated teamincluding touchpoint meetings.
• Answer incoming calls in a courteous,helpfuland professional mannerrepresentingtheinitialcontact with the service. Ensure that patients’ contact details are entered accurately onto the system databases.
• Receiving incoming referrals to the Berkshire Integrated Hub and collect supporting information from the referrer,patientand other agencies. Tomonitorthe Berkshire Integrated hub mailbox for incoming referrals.Toensure incoming referrals are processedin a timely mannerto meet service requirements and are referred onto theappropriate service, ensuring all supporting documentation is completed and referred on.
• Efficient andaccuraterecording of data on the Adastra and RIO electronic patient management systems including details of clinical symptoms, relevant past medicalhistoryand medication where appropriate
