Summary
Due to the expansion of our workshop premises, we are looking to recruit a CNC Programmer to join our established CNC department at a junior level.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have an interest in furniture manufacture and cabinet making. Previous experience with CNC machines would be beneficial but is not essential as on the job training will be given.
The role will involve offline programming for Biesse 3 & 5 Axis CNC Machines using bSuite/bSolid software. You will be interpreting CAD drawings and cutting lists provided by production designers. A significant part of the role will involve working as part of the wider department to meet production targets, reduce waste as well as developing programmes and components for various ranges of furniture.
Key aspects of the role:
- Offline programming for Biesse 3 & 5 Axis CNC machines.
- Interpreting 2D CAD drawings provided by the Production Design team.
- Ensure completed components and parts are sent to the correct departments promptly and manage incoming material levels.
- Monitor various 3 & 5 axis CNC machines and associated tooling with the help of shop floor staff.
- Working as part of a wider team to ensure manufacturing and development targets are achieved.
- Developing programmes and working with operators to reduce down time and waste.
- Contribute to a range of development projects across the wider workshop environment.
The role will be split across our two Shepshed sites and may require occasional Saturday work. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team alongside our operators and programmers, within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Interested or experienced in cabinet/furniture making.
- Confident in interpreting 2D CAD plans and technical drawings.
- Good at communication and time management skills.
- Able to work as part of a team to achieve wide-ranging goals.
- Computer literate.
- Take pride in their work and strive to meet high quality standards.
We offer a competitive salary of between £24,000 - £26,000 per annum (based on experience) and during your first year, you will receive training in the role and performance appraisals where your pay will be reviewed. After this, we offer annual pay reviews and continued support from the team.
You will receive 22 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays) which can increase with length of service and experience, as well as life insurance, a wellness program, cycle 2 work scheme and company events.
If you would like to be considered for this position please apply with your CV.
