Summary


This role is for out of hours PAs for Acute Medical Consultants to work weekends/evenings across our Acute Medical Unit, Emergency Department or Ambulatory Care Unit.

We are looking to appoint to the following shifts:

· Emergency Department Acute Medical Consultant – Saturday and Sunday 8am to 4pm

· Ambulatory Care Unit covering our Medical SDEC service – Saturday and Sunday 8am to 9pm (or 8am to 4pm)

· Acute Medical Unit/Emergency Department – Saturday and Sunday 4pm to 9pm

· Ambulatory Care unit covering our Medical SDEC service – Monday to Friday 4pm to 9pm

We are looking to appoint enthusiastic, highly motivated and dynamic Consultant colleagues to join our team in Acute Medicine at Manchester Royal Infirmary. We are supported by a large multidisciplinary team of junior trainees, clinical fellows, ACPs and a dedicated physiotherapy, occupational therapy and NMP pharmacy team for our unit. We have excellent record of developing and retaining senior nursing colleagues for our unit.

Candidates must be eligible for their own GMC registration:an active licence, ceased license or pending application with the GMC at the point of application. Candidates who do not fit this criteria will not progress through to the shortlisting stage.

We are constantly developing the Acute Medical Unit and expanding consultant support to ensure consultant led care is available 7 days a week.

The post is based at Manchester Royal Infirmary and provides senior medical support to our 48 Medical Assessment Units bed split across 2 wards, our Ambulatory Care Unit which hosts our innovative multi-specialty SDEC service and post take work in our city centre Emergency Department. In the spirit of continuing professional development this post can support a special interest that fits in with directorate and Trust objectives.
