Careers and Enterprise Coach

1.0 FTE / 35 Hours per week; Grade 5, starting at £25,138.00

Fixed term until return of the postholder (Maternity cover)

We are looking to recruit a Careers and Enterprise Coach to join the Futures Careers and Employability team to cover a maternity leave, which starts in November 2024.

We have a strong and motivated Careers team who are committed to providing an aspirational and supportive service for our students, aiding them in their successes and achievements throughout their Marjon journey.

In this role you will work alongside students, recent graduates and alumni to develop their employability skills, and you play a key role in engaging with the business and wider community to help develop partnerships and opportunities. This include finding and arranging inspirational speakers and arranging events to encourage employability.

As a small institution, the ability to balance a wide breadth of responsibilities is an essential skill. You'll be able to quickly establish strong and effective working relationships within Futures, the university and externally. You'll be involved in initiatives and projects across the university, collaborating with other departments to facilitate careers, enterprise and employability initiatives.

Where you’ll work:
In this role, you’ll be based in the Futures team, on our green campus in the north of Plymouth.

Our current hybrid working policy means you can work from home or on campus, but you will need to maintain strong campus links and be available on-site when needed.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Katy Willis, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Student Success on kwillis@marjon.ac.uk.

Supporting our people:
At Marjon, we are firmly committed to supporting every member of staff who works for us. Our Balance programme of health and wellbeing activities aims to help you to look after your physical health, nutritional health, mental health and social health.
We’re big believers in the importance of work/life balance. Many of our employees work flexibly and they are able to apply for parental leave and time off for dependants. To view the range of benefits we offer, please click here.

We are keen to hear from a diverse range of applicants to support our goal to realise every individual’s potential. We are a ‘Disability Confident Employer’: candidates who declare a disability and who demonstrate on their application that they meet the essential criteria will be included on the shortlist.
