This is an exciting secondment opportunity for 1 year fixed term/secondment. The right candidate will join the complex needs team and facilitate the roll out and delivery of Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training. We are looking for a Training Facilitator to co-deliver the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training for Learning Disability and Autism alongside experts with lived experience, to our workforce and commissioned partners.

The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death highlighted the need for health and social care staff to have better skills, knowledge and understanding of the needs of autistic people and those with a learning disability.

This is an amazing opportunity to influence how care is delivered by providing staff with the knowledge and skills they need to make a difference.

You will be joining a friendly, supportive and dedicated team who are passionate about making a difference for people with learning disabilities and autistic people.

The role is available full time, however, part time applications considered. There are opportunities for home working on non-training days, if desired.

· Role models exemplary behaviour in terms of conduct, attitude, performance, when delivering The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism and The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism Trainers’ Training.

· Demonstrates ability to effectively support and co-facilitate the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training with experts by experience.

· Demonstrates best practice facilitating training.

· Employs learning interventions that are learner-centred.

· Recognises and addresses the needs of individuals and the group prior to, during and after the session.

· Keeps up to date with current and emerging thinking in health and social care practice, learning disability and autism, laws of consent (UK), The Mental Capacity Act 2005, The Human Rights Act 1998, The Autism Act 2009, Do not attempt cardiovascular resuscitation case law (DNACPR), LeDeR and other associated data.

· Identifies trends and issues, escalating and acting on these as appropriate.

· Facilitate deliver training agenda to time, trajectory, and target.

· Be responsible for ensuring the programme and delivery is reviewed and audited in line with local policies and national programme review.

· Facilitate implementation of any research based changes to national programme and practice.

· Liaise with regional partners and ensure regional organisational reports are submitted to deadline.
