Summary
This post is for a 12 month Clinical fellowship in Stroke Medicine and Genomic Medicine at the Greater Manchester Comprehensive Stroke Centre (CSC) based at Salford Royal Hospital (Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, NCA), supported by the NW Genomic Medicine Service Alliance, hosted at Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT).
The post can be a standalone post for candidates interested in gaining 12 months’ experience project management, Service implementation and delivery and Research.
The Clinical Fellow will be expected to critically evaluate available literature evidence on Clopidogrel resistance in Stroke patients.
This piece of work is expected to drive policy formation on indications and scope of testing choice of alternate antiplatelet regimes.
The Clinical Fellow is expected to take lead in implementation of this pathway for Stroke patients in the Salford CSC and explore opportunities for implementation across the region and broader within the NHS.
The Clinical Fellow is expected to examine the 2 available pathways in the form of Laboratory based testing and Point of Care testing and scope of use of either in specific scenarios and make recommendations for future pathway design and implementation.
