Crynodeb
Tasks required by this job include:
• Ensuring compliance at all times with building regulations and health and safety standards;
• Communicating effectively with team members and suppliers;
• Selecting, measuring and cutting steel bars, rods and wire to the required length;
• Positioning and fixing reinforcements into position tensions as required using hydraulic jacks;
• Performing various construction tasks including bricklaying, plastering, putting tiles and building blocks to construct, repair and decorate buildings;
• Wall and floor tiling, rendering, roofing and path laying;
• General building maintenance and repairs, timber frame building and drainage;
• Pouring and levelling concretes, preparing surfaces for painting and plastering, mixing and applying plaster and paint;
• Installing plumbing fixtures, woodwork structures and fittings, and setting glass in frames;
• Repairing and erecting fences;
• Installing and replacing light conductors;
• Repairing and maintaining steeples, industrial chimneys and other high structures;
• Checking and putting on diving suit and equipment and descending underwater to carry out construction, maintenance and repair tasks on sites such as oil rigs, harbours, bridges etc.;
• Operating general building machinery such as mini digger, dumper trucks, etc.
• Working independently or as part of a team to complete construction projects;
• Keeping accurate records of work completed and materials used;
• Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order.
