Job Description

Role – Section 5 Officer (full time & part time) Location – Glasgow South & Glasgow North West Salary - you could earn between £16.10 - £18.21 per hour Hours – 1 x 35 hour position and 1 x 17.5 hour position We are recruiting to Section 5 Officers within our Homelessness Service. The primary focus of this post is to minimise the risk of people becoming homeless, through the provision of good quality housing option assessments, information and assistance, working with colleagues across the Glasgow City Health & Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP), voluntary and private sector partner agencies, as part of the broader homelessness prevention agenda. The Section 5 Officer will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Section 5 process within the Homelessness Casework Services by supporting the development and management of the Section 5 Management Information Data Base (I-World) and liaising with partner organisations within and outwith the Council family. A knowledge of homeless issues and legislation is essential. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, highly motivated, willing to learn within a changing environment, with strong communication skills and able to demonstrate an excellent approach to customer service gained through experience of working with the general public.

These posts are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).

Salary for part time post will be pro - rata.

These posts are temporary for a period up to 31st March 2025.
