Summary
The post holder will be an experienced and motivated individual who is able to provide strong leadership, strategic vision and effective management to the cross-site education team. They will ensure that educational and clinical standards are maintained and promote an environment of continual improvement throughout our maternity units and across the Local Maternity and Neonatal System. The Lead Midwife for Educations key responsibilities will be to provide expert advice and guidance to the trust on pre and post registration midwifery education. They will be responsible for coordinating systems and processes in order to assure the quality of all educational activities in the unit. The post holder will be responsible for implementing relevant national standards, protocols and agreed Trust initiatives. Through strong clinical leadership, the Lead Midwife for Education will support the maternity service leads to promote quality and excellence in midwifery care and to maintain and improve clinical standards and experience. They must demonstrate clinical expertise and act as a role model at all times in line with the Trust values.
