Summary


The Nottingham Paediatric Urology service has an opportunity for a band 6 clinical nurse specialist to join the team.

The successful candidate will work alongside a team of other specialist nurses to manage and support a caseload of children with complex bladder problems. The post-holder will be based in Nottingham Children's Hospital and will provide care in an in-patient environment, in day case and out-patient areas, and occasionally in the community setting.

In order to be considered for this post you must have experience of paediatric urology nursing, recent acute nursing experience, and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously.




Alongside the multi-professional team manage a caseload of patients requiring assessment and management of paediatric urology conditions

Be a point of contact for families with a child with bladder problems: Provide training, advice and support on catheterisation and bladder management

Be accessible to in-patient teams requiring support with bladder assessment

Undertake investigative procedures to diagnose bladder dysfunction

Take direct referrals and autonomously manage patients / clients with undifferentiated or unstable problems.

Assess, diagnose, discharge and refer patients / clients within a defined area of competence.

Be a visible point of contact for patients, visitors, relatives, and staff, acting as a resource for problems and able to clearly present the patients’ / clients’ points of view to others. Receive and investigate any complaints received.

Ensure that patient care plans are regularly updated, and changes implemented and that patients’ records and documentation are maintained and current
