More detail about the role: Main duties of the job On completion of renal competencies, the post holder will be required to: prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care, including haemodialysis treatment and care of dialysis access work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to on-going assessment of patients to optimise treatment and promote best outcomes act as a shift coordinator and delegate to team members, supervising unregistered staff promote high standards of quality care, in line with Trust values, policies and protocols undertake link nurse/champion roles to ensure the holistic needs of patients are met and unit resources are managed effectively participate in continued professional development, including mandatory updates and renal specific competencies Applicants should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills as will be required to work collaboratively with dialysis unit staff and the wider renal MDT. You must be motivated to provide high standards of care in a dynamic environment, as well as aspiring to improve services for patients. The post holder will be supported in their role by the Clinical Nurse Manager and Charge Nurses, as well as the existing team of very experienced haemodialysis nurses, assistant practitioners and HCAs. We are closed on Sundays, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, with no overnight working required. Working Pattern: The shifts pattern will be a mixture of early (07:30-18:30) or late (12:00-23:00) shifts worked Monday-Saturday. The advertised post a 0.73 WTE which equates to 3 weeks of 3 x long days and 1 week of 2 x long days in each 4 week rota period. Interview Date: To be confirmed Pay - The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a 5.5% pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
