About Us:
Starfish Kids Club provides a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children aged 4-11. We are looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Group Coordinator to oversee our playworkers and ensure a high-quality experience for both children and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise a team of playworkers, including volunteers and casual staff.
• Create and manage staff work plans and rotas.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, conducting regular risk assessments.
• Lead termly staff supervisions and support staff development by identifying training needs.
• Manage staff timesheets and maintain communication with the management team.
• Oversee the implementation of policies and procedures in line with health and safety regulations.
• Liaise with parents, carers, and school staff to address any issues or updates.
• Maintain equipment, monitor premises safety, and handle petty cash for daily operations.
Essential/Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
• Relevant childcare qualifications (or a willingness to obtain them).
• Experience working with children aged 4-11 years, preferably in a play or afterschool setting.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and risk assessments.
• First Aid certification and safeguarding training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to manage records, including timesheets and registers, accurately.
• Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework is essential.
