Summary
We are looking for someone who has extensive experience and training in the specialty. Short-stay, high-volume cases are expected and experience in the delivery of anaesthesia commensurate with same-day cases is required, eg arthroplasties. The successful appointee will be expected to comply with all relevant Sulis policies relating to administration of patient care. This includes working to set timescales for the treatment of patients, completion of appropriate documentation including management of postoperative analgesia. Consultants are also expected to work with other partners, clinical unit managers, nurses, and consultant colleagues to manage their caseload in a flexible way, to ensure clinical, and local priorities are achieved. The job plan will be adjusted to fulfil the interests of the successful appointee; however, appointees will be expected to deliver a minimum of eight Clinical PAs in theatres and pre-operative assessment and two PAs of Supporting Professional Activity time each week. Weekend working will be rostered in conjunction with other Sulis-employed Consultant colleagues. An on-call weekend roster will also be shared with colleagues.
