Summary

Manpower Cambridge are looking for a Heat Treatment Operative for a National business.
As a Heat Treatment Operative, your primary role will contain the following responsibilities
Salary: £25,000 - £34,000 (dependant on experience)
Carrying out heat treatment production activities:

  • Perform secondary contract review
  • Surface preparation of customer work (cleaning, blasting, stopping off)
  • Establish efficient production loading using jigs and fixtures
  • Preparation of furnace loads
  • Testing of production loads
  • Data log review
  • Packing and despatch

Additional expectations of the role will also entail the following:
Carrying out all activities with reference to company operating procedures, data sheets
Follow company health and safety procedures
Fixture management, maintenance and repair
Daily/weekly/monthly furnace checks
5S and housekeeping activities within the department

Knowledge, experience, person specification
Required: High school education or equivalent qualifications/experience
Required: Shift work, including night shift
Required: Capable of moving/handling requirements
Required: Full UK driver's licence (expected travel will be limited)
Required: Knowledge of heat treatment practice and testing principles
Preferable: Forklift truck license
Preferable: IT literacy

Job challenges
Understanding heat treatment specifications and requirements due to a planned transition to aerospace heat treatment services, working in hot/cold environment (seasonal, proximity to heat treatment furnaces), handling high value finished components.
Hours of work will be Monday - Friday initially moving over to a shift rotation.
