Summary
This list is not exhaustive and the full job description should be referred to. 1. Have expert knowledge on all aspects of activities of the relevant planning and CT areas and act as a focus for clinical advice to staff. 2. Have job planned clinical time to support the pretreatment and planning pathway and maintain clinical knowledge. 3. Have sound knowledge on all aspects of the treatments administered in the department and co-ordinate clinical advice to staff. 4. Monitor the electronic radiotherapy referrals ensuring appropriateness and whether any additional actions are required. This responsibility may be delegated but overall responsibility sits with the post holder. 5. Ensure accurate localisation and planning of treatment prescriptions by appropriate delegation of duties to staff, by checking procedures, prescriptions and working closely with other senior staff to ensure that areas where extra supervisory support is required are covered. 6. Ensure treatment plans and prescriptions are annotated and completed correctly and any inaccuracies reported immediately. Taking the lead on investigations as required. 7. Work closely with Consultant Clinical Oncologists to deliver planning in a timeframe that enables cancer treatment target.
