Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Essential Qualifications • 5 good GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics

• A-Levels or equivalent
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
• QTS Status
• Be able to deliver a Technology qualification at KS4

Essential Experience

• Be an excellent teacher demonstrating enthusiasm and a • commitment to education

• Have experience of building and sustaining effective
• relationships with colleagues • Have knowledge of and a commitment to the implementation of the safeguarding agenda
• Have a secure working knowledge of Health and Safety, ensuring potential risks are identified and addressed and safe practice is adhered to across the Learning Area

Essential Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the principles and practice of effective teaching specifically relating to DT

• Have confidence and competence in using student achievement data appropriately, to support students and therefore make timely interventions which have a long-term impact
• Have the ability to hold honest, supportive and challenging conversations
• Have knowledge and experience of recent relevant pedagogical developments
• Have an excellent understanding of appropriate assessment processes
• Have an ability to motivate young people
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Have demonstrably high professional standards
• Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues within the DT Learning Area to ensure that all students within the Academy receive outstanding teaching
• Have a willingness to contribute and lead the CPD of colleagues

• Be passionate about DT

• Have a passion for working with young people
