Specialist Mental Health Learning Disability Service

FIXED TERM - 18 month contract

This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dynamic CAMHS Learning Disability Nurse. This is a newly created clinical role in the new Berkshire Specialist Mental Health Learning Disability Service.

The Specialist Mental Health Learning Disability Service is an exciting new team that will transform the support mechanisms for children and young people with a learning disability. The new service will be based at Erlegh House which is situated on the Reading University Campus.

As part of a multi-disciplinaryteamthey willprovide specialist multi-disciplinary assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people with a learning disability and a mental healthcondition. This includesconsultation,training and support to families, education, socialcareand other agencies to enhance their skills and competencies to meet the emotional,psychologicaland social developmental needs of children and young people with mental health needs and learning disabilities.This postwill beintegral to the development and delivery of the newSpecialist Mental Health Learning Disability Service.

The 3 must haves for this role are:
• RNLD/RNMH with current registration
• Evidence of recent and substantive post-registration learning disability/mental health nursing experience
• Ability to travel a variety of distances on a frequent basis to remote areas which may not be accessible by public transport.
