The team is supported by Clinical Practice Facilitators, two departmental Play Specialists and has strong links with the Paediatric and Adolescent Division. UCLH Emergency Department strives on team work. You will need to have strong communication and be adaptive to working in emergency situations and an eagerness to advance in Emergency Nursing practice.



This is a responsible role and we will endeavour to encourage you to play an important part in strengthening our status as one London’s leading Emergency Departments. The shift pattern is internal rotation and will include working within the resuscitation room.

Working within a leading academic trust you can look forward to proactive managerial support for personal and professional development including opportunities for degree and masters pathways via Southbank or City University and internal teaching opportunities

To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse (or key worker) for a defined group of patients and take responsibility for:

· protecting and supporting the health of individual patients and clients

· the assessment of care and health education needs

· the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient

To be designated to take charge of the ward/department regularly in the absence of the person holding continuing responsibility

To work in accordance with UCLH Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and Core Standards and contribute towards achieving the Trust’s “Top 10”

To provide a high standard of holistic patient-centred care

To act as a facilitator/mentor/preceptor to student nurses and others and participate in clinical supervision programmes as appropriate
