Summary
The Practice
Opportunity to join our growing practice providing building surveys and architectural services across the North of England. Gaining 90% of instructions through repeat business and word of mouth referrals, our practice has established a reputation for delivering an excellent service to our clients.
Our Building Surveying services are predominantly residential, on traditional and/or historic buildings within the rural and built environment. Our Architectural Services include design and construction management of a broad range of schemes from simple home alterations to high end bespoke residential, leisure and commercial developments.
Each member of the team is invaluable and crucial to making the business work as a whole. Employees are encouraged to continue their professional and personal development with support offered to encourage a good work-life balance.
The Job
A Building Surveyor will join our team with the responsibly of conducting Structural Appraisals or Level 2/3 RICS Surveys. Given the nature of the properties we most regularly inspect and the level of service we provide, our reports are all bespoke with first drafts prepared from surveyor’s dictation before review, edit and issue. Full time on-site administration staff will support with survey coordination for each instruction from quote through to report issue.
There is also the opportunity for the right individual to be part of the continuing development of our building surveying services and the growth of this area of work.
The Person
A candidate must be FRICS, MRICS or AssocRICS with building surveying experience, either conducting Level 3 RICS Home Surveys on traditional/historic properties, or be able to demonstrate their ability to develop existing surveying skills to the level needed with the support of our team.
Good knowledge of building pathology and an understanding of architectural design/technical detailing are critical to the role with understanding of the local vernacular being an advantage.
A positive attitude, ability to manage workloads and drive to provide the highest level of service, are all important to us.
The Package
£30,000 - £45,000 dependent upon experience plus discretionary and incentive bonus scheme.
21 Days holiday + bank holidays + 2 weeks at Christmas + additional days for time in role.
Training and support for continuing professional and personal development.
Rural office based with flexible working arrangements available.
Mileage expenses
All surveying equipment provided.
Team events.
Free on-site parking.
