We are looking to recruit 2 enthusiastic Support Workers to provide 2:1 support for a 7-year-old female child with Autism, ADHD and other complex needs.
Main Duties
The role is to enable her to play and engage in fun things at her home and in the garden. Ideally this support worker will be confident and happy to put routines in place for the child and be able to reinforce these with her so that she gets used to different routines. The child can struggle to regulate her behaviour and it is hoped by spending time with her Support Worker she can learn new ways of communicating positively. Close supervision will needed at all times, as she has no danger awareness.
There will be a need to operate medical equipment for safety, including a chest restraint harness, wheelchair and ankle splints. Training and guidance will be provided. It would be an advantage if interested applicants had some previous experience with these kinds of equipment.
It is hoped that over a period of time the child will be able to build a relationship with her Support Worker so that they can start to go out and about in the community together to access some activities. with others,
Medical intervention will be required, specifically administration autoinjectors (anaphylaxis pens) in case the child has a reaction. Training and guidance will be provided.
Hours
4 hours per week with 2:1 support. Saturday morning or afternoon.
Rate of pay
£16.41 per hour. Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata.
Any out-of-pocket expenses will be met by the employer, this will be further explained at interview.

Person Specification
The successful applicant must:
· Have experience and a positive understanding about children who have disabilities
· Have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs
· Have a high degree of initiative
· Be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised
· Be flexible
· Have a happy, positive and caring nature
· Respect confidentiality
Full, clean driving licence required and must be insured for business use.
The successful candidate will require an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS), cost to be met by employer.
