Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant willing to get stuck in and hit the ground running.
You’ll be someone who works well under pressure, is a great team player as well as being self-motivated and able to work independently when needed. You’ll be someone who truly understands the need for care, consideration and respect for our patients but also applies these qualities to your team members.
A ‘can do’ attitude and determination to be flexible and embrace change to deliver the best patient care is essential as well as a desire to grow and improve our ever growing service.
Your communication skills will be second to none, working collaboratively with patients, relatives/carers and colleagues to help plan a safe and seamless journey home.

1. Undertake individual performance review and the identification and implementation of personal development plans for Healthcare Assistants.
2. Ensure compliance with all Trust policies and national guidelines.
3. Assist in dealing with patients, families and carers in order to aid resolution of complaints.
4. Attend regular ward/department meetings and represent the ward/Directorate team at other meetings as and when required.
5. Facilitate open and effective communication within the ward team.
6. Assist in managing sickness and absence of staff within ward team in accordance with Trust policy
7. Ensure that duty rotas are safe; reflecting skill mix against patient workload using agreed methodology and comply with European Working Time Directive as appropriate
8. Ensure you maintain your registration status in line with NMC.
9. Demonstrate responsibility for reporting all accidents/untoward incidents and ensuring relevant documentation is completed.
10. Act as advocate for a group of patients
11. Actively promote and monitor the safety, well-being and interests of the patients, staff and all visitors to the clinical area.
12. Be conversant with and support the ward/departmental contribution to local, corporate, regional and national performance objectives
13. Support the monitoring of quality and performance standards of services provided to the ward by external agencies
