Summary
Due to the recent expansion of our Lung Cancer and Thoracic surgery ward, n opportunity has arisen for full time Nursing Assistants to join our team on Ward F3 here at Wythenshawe hospital.
You will be a part of a caring and supportive team, looking after 32 lung cancer and thoracic surgery patients having curative surgical intervention for lung cancer and benign lung conditions.
As a Nursing Assistant you will be a key member of our nursing team providing support with our registered nurses to patients and families.
You will be able to work on own initiative, following direction by Registered Nurse.
You will need to have:
Excellent communication skills – in particular listening skills
A friendly, open, empathetic and compassionate communication style
A strong ability to engage with patients, visitors and colleagues
The ability to work well in a team
In return we will provide a comprehensive induction programme and you will be appraised on a yearly basis with a view to developing knowledge and skills where appropriate. We would recommend an informal visit to the unit if you are interested in this position.

If you’re a more experienced Nursing Assistant seeking a new opportunity in a Band 3 role, you’ll undertake a skills analysis when you start to identify any gaps in your clinical skills knowledge needed for your role. You’ll then be supported to access relevant modules from the clinical skills programme to support your progression to a Band 3 post on completion.
