We are looking for a committed enabler to support a woman who lives in the Morpeth area to access the local community and other sociable activities. The woman lives at home with her family but is looking for somebody to support her independence and develop her social calendar.
The client has a diagnosis of Huntington's disease and requires an individual with experience of supporting clients with long-term medical conditions. The ideal applicant will have a chatty, friendly nature and be physically able to manage the physical requirements of the role.
This will include supporting the client fully when in her wheelchair and supporting with all transfers as appropriate including lifting the wheelchair in and out of car.
Somebody with the energy to ‘get and go’ with a proactive outlook on life is a must.
Must be able to drive
Rate of Pay: £13.09 per hour
Hours Breakdown:
· A Maximum of 8 hours per week over 2 days although flexibility is required.
· Days of work are open to negotiation for the right applicant
· 5.6 weeks paid holiday pro rata per year
· Expenses such as mileage will be paid in agreement with the employer at 45p per mile
· A job share would be considered
A full enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate will be required. Cost will be met in full by the employer Where appropriate full training will be provided. This will include medication administration, moving and handling and Safeguarding. You will also have access to a range of free courses available to you through the local authority Learning and Development system.
