Cardiorespiratory Investigations is a forward looking department made up of a multidisciplinary team. We are committed to delivering the best possible care to our patients. As an Specialist Practitioner in respiratory, the successful candidate will be competent in performing Advanced Respiratory investigations, support sleep investigations and Bronchoscopy and Thoracoscopy service.
The department provides a broad range of respiratory physiological measurements including full PFT’s, allergy testing, exercise tests, Cardio-pulmonary exercise test, hypoxic challenge, ear lobe blood gas.
You will be competent in Advanced lung function. Further training can be offered to support the sleep, bronchoscopy and thoracoscopy investigations. The ability to work flexible hours during the week will be beneficial.
You will provide teaching and training for medical and physiology staff in respiratory Investigations.
You will be expected to liaise with patients, carers and other healthcare professionals (across primary and secondary care) to provide and improve respiratory services.
Continuous professional development is encouraged and you will have opportunities to develop further your skills and knowledge. This will include:
• Support to attend relevant professional courses
• Opportunities to gain additional experience and build on new skills.
In addition to appropriate experience, the successful candidate must possess a Clinical Physiology degree or equivalent qualification (see person spec.) and be registered with RCCP (or be working towards registration
