We are delighted to be working with a market leading client in the recycling and sustainability sector, and are excited to share an opportunity for a Transport Planner to join their team in Daventry!

The role

Working as a transport planner, you will be responsible for planning and managing a designated region of the client's commercial vehicle fleet, whilst working towards planned transport budgets and targets.

  • Full-Time, Permanent role
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • £28,000 - £30,000 DOE
  • Working across 3 shift patterns: 7am - 3pm, 8a, - 4pm, and 9am - 5pm

Key accountabilities

  • Manage drivers and subcontractors within your region
  • Produce and deliver daily fleet schedules
  • Review and develop work volumes and resource requirements
  • Liaise with depot operations managers
  • Assist with day to day operations and problem solving
  • Provide high-level customer service
  • Focus on maximising order fulfilment

Skills & experience

Experience working in the transport and logistics industry is essential for this role, whilst good UK geographical knowledge and experience providing freight quotations and vehicle/driver costings would be ideal.

  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • PC skills - including use of MS office
  • Competent working to and monitoring KPIs
