Do you want to be part of the busy catering team at Victoria Hospital, Blackpool?
We are currently recruiting a catering assistant to work mainly in the Restaurant serving, breakfast, lunch or supper to staff and visitors to the Hospital, Monday to Friday, covering early and evening shifts, including bank holidays as required. The post holder will work as part of a dedicated Catering Team mainly in the Restaurant but could include the Patients Meal Service and Kitchen Area to meet the needs of the service.
Blackpool Victoria Hospital is recruiting a permanent Catering Assistant to work as part of our dedicated Catering Team.
The post holder will be part of the team providing a catering service to staff, patients and members of the public. The successful applicant will work mainly in the Restaurant, Monday to Friday including bank holidays as required. Main duties include: Carrying out service duties for breakfast, lunch and supper service this would be in all sections on the Restaurant, deli Bar, Coffee Bar, Hot Food Service, Cash registers, dishwashing and general cleaning of equipment, utensils and cleaning production areas, moving and handling of meal trolleys, basic food preparation, use of large industrial dishwasher and cleaning machinery.
The Catering Department at Blackpool Victoria Hospital are a 5 star establishment on the food hygiene rating and will always ensure that safety and quality is always a paramount to our staff, patients and visitors. With this in mind the successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to be flexible and work as part of a team; must be physically fit to perform the duties and have experience in the catering industry. Good assertion skills, customer care skills and an eye for detail are essential.
Uniform and training will be provided however the applicant will be required to have a catering background and level 2 certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Communicate effectively, professionally and in a timely manner with all hospital staff, the public and colleagues across the Trust and attend department meetings as required
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively and ensure COSHH is followed
• Meet the cleaning standards of the department and Trust to ensure a safe service is provided
• Compliance with the Catering Department Services and Hygiene & Quality Standards.
• Attractive presentation of all food items served.
• Correct and consistent portion control.
• Meeting required tempo of work & service deadlines
