Summary

We are currently recruiting for an ESOL Tutor to join our STEP Forward support service. STEP Forward is a female only project which aims to support the successful integration of women refugees enabling them to develop and improve confidence and wellbeing, recognise their skills and experience as valuable assets and help to plan their future pathways and involvement in the community.
Please note that due to the nature of this service, this role is open to female applicants only.

The role
The role of the tutor is to deliver ESOL and Cultural Orientation classes with a focus on speaking and listening to refugees and other migrants whose first language is not English. Classes may range from pre-entry to level 2 and will be a mixture of bespoke courses and formal qualifications. The ESOL Tutor will work closely with the wider teams to ensure participants become more independent and less isolated and work collaboratively to improve service and support all Quality Assurance processes. The role will be based in Bradford. You may also be required to work remotely via Teams or Zoom.

What we are looking for
• Experience of lesson planning and preparing schemes of work, with an ability to design interesting and creative classroom activities/resources, that will engage and stimulate learners
• Experience of assessing levels of learning
• Experience of teaching ESOL to different client groups
• Ability to manage a class with additional needs and working with learners who have had no previous formal education
• Experience of successfully meeting demanding administrative tasks, to ensure compliance with contract requirements
• Previous experience of working with Refugees would be advantageous
• Level 5 (or above) Teaching Qualification
• Competent user of Microsoft Office
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries
• Commitment to Equality & Diversity
• Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings
