Join Platform Property Care (PPC) as an Apprentice and you will be joining a well-established property maintenance business. What will you be doing as an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative?  

As an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative (PMO) you will learn all about what it takes to make sure our customers’ homes are maintained to a high and safe standard. You will produce work of the highest quality while providing excellent service to our customers, clients, and your team. 

As part of this apprenticeship, you will learn a wide range of trade skills such as Carpentry, Plumbing, Plastering, Tiling, Decorating and minor Electrical work. The work will be varied and interesting and you will have the support of a mentor throughout your apprenticeship. 

At college, you will study the Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship standard at Level 2 by attending Hereford and Ludlow College or similar provider one day a week, alongside learning and working with experienced operatives during the rest of the week. 

On successful completion of the Property Maintenance Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship, you will be able to apply for any related job vacancies within PPC. If you gain permanent employment with PPC you will continue to be supported in your learning and development. PPC has a strong track record of offering permanent jobs to its apprentices once they qualify.

Team working  

Grade 4 or above GCSE or equivalent in English would be desirable  

Grade 4 or above GCSE or equivalent in Maths would be desirable  

Some things you need to know 

The team is based in Herefordshire covering a patch concentrated around Hereford and Leominster, so applicants need to live in this area 

This is a Level 2 course lasting 2 years 

You would work a 40-hour week working Monday to Friday 

As you will be working in customer’s homes you will require a DBS check 

Ideally you would need to hold a full driving licence, but this is not essential at this point, but the role is mobile
