Summary

Gi Group are currently recruiting for a qualified Production Supervisor based in Swansea. the Role involves Assisting the Operations Manager and being responsible for the day-to-day management of people within production, to ensure company's targets and objectives are met to meet customer requirements, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures. Strive to continually improve, reduce costs, improve production and quality.

Hours and Pay:
Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 4pm
Friday 7.30am - 1pm (40 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: £18.26-19.23 per hour
Location: Swansea

Responsibilities include:
* Input valves into the Valve Management System (VMS).
* Carry out, overhaul and QA of all valves where required to ensure customer requirements and monthly schedules are achieved.
* Ad-Hock site support at customers facilities when required.
* Achieve the required company quality standards ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction.
* Complete customer risk assessments in line with IVS quality, H&S and Environmental policies.
* Ensuring that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are monitored, and targets achieved.
* Coordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications.
* Communicate, delivering team briefs with focus on quality, cost and delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement.
* Drive performance of team members, giving direction and feedback to aid good performance.
* Ensure safe working practices are maintained and 'Standard Operations' adhered to.
* Working to ISO9001 quality system and Health and Safety Procedures.
* Ensure that non-conformance is challenged, and countermeasures are agreed and implemented.
* Motivate the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced.
* Support the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, model change and pilot build.
* Report and act upon plant or machinery breakdowns and machine preventative maintenance.
* Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to support dispatch.
* Support the resolution of Customer concerns. Identify and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures. Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
* Ensure all external and internal auditory standards and improvement requirements are met.
* Check and verify daily time sheets for accuracy for all workshop team members.

Qualifications and Experience Levels required:
* HNC or equivalent and/or time served and proven track record within a mechanical discipline.
* IOSH / Nebosh experience desirable.
* Experience and knowledge of working within the valve industry is desirable;
* A proven track record of supervising a team of mechanical fitters.
* Proven experience of continuous improvement and problem solving and process improvement
