Are you looking for an exciting role within the Parks and Countryside Service? This role could be for you!

We are looking for someone to lead, manage and deliver a significant heritage project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project to restore the historic boating lake and its natural heritage in Wardown Park is identified in the Luton Heritage Strategy and will improve biodiversity and protect the heritage landscape in Wardown Park for future generations to enjoy.

You’ll be responsible for providing leadership in interpreting The National Lottery Heritage Fund requirements, government policy and/or legislative requirements and guidance in relation to the project and initiate appropriate action to ensure implementation to meet requirements.

About you
We are looking for someone ideally with knowledge of the greenspace sector, heritage landscapes and biodiversity, with demonstrable experience of project delivery including maintaining and updating project logs and quality assurance systems as of leading and managing project teams.

You’ll need to be an effective communicator with the ability to present to a range of audiences and show evidence of managing, commissioning and delivering heritage projects.

This is a vital role where you will need to be able to develop clear project plans, business cases and contract and project documentation, delivering to budget and in accordance with value for money principles and achieving key performance targets.

We do ask that you can analyse data and interpret a range of information and prepare reports finding effective solutions and making and implementing recommendations for best practice.
