Summary

McGinley are looking for a Groundworker gang to join a busy project from Rugby - Bletchley. The work will start on days Monday - Friday (10 hours a shift) and will then move onto nights (Saturday and Monday - Thursday.

The Team will consist of a COSS and 2 x Groundworkers. The Pay terms are CIS.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Groundworkers (2 positions):

  • Installing Concrete: Installation of concrete structures, ensuring alignment and stability as per project specifications.
  • Ducting: Lay ducting systems for utilities, ensuring they are correctly placed and secured.
  • Stacker Boxes: Assemble and install stacker boxes, ensuring they are level and securely fitted.
  • Retaining Walls: Construct retaining walls, ensuring they are robust and in line with safety standards.
  • Removing Ballast and De-Veg: Remove ballast and vegetation from designated areas, ensuring the site is prepared for subsequent construction activities.

COSS (1 position - Controller of Site Safety):

  • Safety Oversight: Oversee safety protocols on-site, ensuring all team members adhere to safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Work Coordination: Coordinate the workflow of groundworkers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and within project timelines.
  • Site Management: Manage on-site activities, including the setup and maintenance of safety barriers and signage.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work completed and any safety incidents or observations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Personal Track Safety (PTS) ticket
  • Experience in groundworks and working in trackside environments
  • Cat scan trolley tickets and de-veg tickets are highly desirable

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong understanding of trackside safety and construction protocols
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards

Work Conditions:

  • Outdoor work on or next to the railway track
  • Physical labour involving lifting, digging, and handling construction materials
  • Adherence to strict safety protocols at all times

This role requires individuals who are diligent, safety-conscious, and skilled in groundworks. The team will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving railway infrastructure.
