Summary

Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is passionate about providing high-quality services to our communities, residents and businesses. This means we must employ and retain the most talented and dedicated people.

Situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area, Huntingdonshire is a beautiful district that boasts thriving market towns and many attractive villages, each with its own identity. We are an innovative and forward-thinking local authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision-making.

At HDC we want to employ staff who embody our icare values (Inspiring, Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Enterprising), all of which support our ultimate purpose of putting our customers first.

Job details
The Economic Development team is growing and we're looking for two exceptional people to join us to be our Economic Development Officer and our new Business Development Officer.

You'll be part of the Invest in Huntingdonshire team that is small in numbers and big on ambition. You'll thrive in roles that demand both individual responsibility and collaboration with multiple teams across the council.

Service excellence isn't just a goal for you; it's in your DNA! As successful candidates, you'll excel at building networks and relationships, with a keen understanding of how our local economy fits into the Huntingdonshire landscape.

Your ability to uncover valuable insights will distinguish you from your peers. Serving as a prominent member of the Economic Development team, you'll represent the District Council with distinction. These roles offer exciting opportunities to join us during a pivotal moment, where your contributions will play a significant role in achieving our team's objectives and advancing the council's Corporate Plan.

The team currently delivers support to businesses looking to relocate to Huntingdonshire as well as enabling the 8,000 enterprises to grow within our district.

You'll get involved in a variety of projects from our Huntingdonshire Futures work - a place strategy to 2050 - to our Economic Growth Strategy - setting the agenda to fulfil our Joint Administration's priorities set out in our Corporate Plan. As well as a daily mix of connecting, signposting, and promoting initiatives that support business growth. We also have a growing capability of intelligence and insights designed to support the council's approach to Economic Development.

We know our people are what make HDC great and recognise how important a healthy work-life balance is. Our hybrid work model enables employees to work remotely whilst allowing for in-office collaboration opportunities across the district.

You must be able to travel to Pathfinder House in Huntingdon (PE29 3TN) at least twice per week and as required. This is likely to be more often during the onboarding phase of employment.
