Summary

To undertake high quality direct and indirect specialist psychology interventions, taking substantial professional responsibility and exercising autonomous judgement in matters of professional practice. To ensure clinical effectiveness of own practice and of service functioning by undertaking research and development activities relevant to the service area. You will have wide-ranging opportunities to develop your clinical interests and skills with this population. You will also provide leadership and management to Psychology staff in West Kent and take a lead on identified specialist projects. Supervision and ongoing professional development are considered essential components of clinical practice. The successful post holder would also be supported and encouraged to participate in staff wellbeing provision including post-incident debriefing and team reflective practice sessions. You will be a senior staff member within the KMPT Psychology Service for Older People, a highly valued and innovative service of over 35 staff including clinical psychologists, music, drama, art, systemic/family therapists, counselling psychologists, clinical associate psychologists (CAPs) and assistant psychologists. Within easy distance of the South Thames Clinical Psychology Training Centre, our service welcomes trainees and takes advantage of post-qualification training courses and events.
