Summary
Are you an experienced Cardiac Nurse ready for a new challenge? Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is looking for a dedicated professional like you to enhance and expand our Cardiac service. We are looking for -
x4 Band 6s - x2 Deputy Sisters/Deputy Charge Nurses
x2 Senior Staff Nurses (working pattern will include night shifts in the Cardiac Day Ward)
In this pivotal role, you'll be the driving force of our cath lab service. You will be instrumental in maintaining and elevating the standards of care, focusing on patient-centred outcomes and experiences. Your leadership will ensure safety and effectiveness in every aspect of care, whilst deputising for cath lab leadership team and supporting junior staff and help induct them into the service.
Your clinical responsibilities will include delivering planned care to patients, performing advanced clinical skills, maintaining a safe patient environment, and acting as a scrub or circulating nurse during invasive cardiac procedures. You will be trained to perform venepuncture, cannulation, and remove venous and arterial sheaths. You will also assist in the safe transfer of critically ill patients and participate in on-call commitments as required.

• To provide high quality compassionate intra-operative care to all patients undergoing minimally invasive cardiac diagnostics and interventional procedures, from admission to discharge.
• To be professionally accountable for own actions and to work within the guidelines, policies and procedures of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
• Provide support and individualised care to patients, relatives/carers in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, in line with local and national targets.
• At all times ensure that the needs of the patient are placed at the centre of care delivery.
• To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and provide cover for any area specified.

Based at our Hammersmith Hospital site, renowned for its strong research connections and being a regional specialist heart attack centre. You will work rotating within our state-of-the-art cardiac cath labs, day ward, and recovery unit.
The 6 cardiac cath labs in Hammersmith Hospital runs a service running Monday to Saturday, providing a variety of procedures from simple diagnostics and treatments i.e., coronary angiogram, angioplasty and device implants to more complex Interventional, EP and Structural procedures i.e., PCI of CTO, Ablations and Device Extractions, TAVIs, Mitral and Tricuspid Clips/TEER.
