Hours: 37.5 hours 9 to 5:30 Monday to Friday

Employee Engagement Manager - Purpose of job:

The Employee Communications Manager is responsible for promoting and ensuring that we create a positive communications culture in a workplace. The primary purpose is to ensure Sterling meet its contractual and legal obligations as well as have top down, bottom-up and diagonal slice communications with all our potential and current employees of Sterling.

Alongside this you will be overseeing and support the Employee relations Advisor.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Agree and implement key areas of employee surveys, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
* Provide managers with accurate information on employee surveys and collaborate with them to develop action plans.
* Collaborate with the HR team to integrate communication strategies into all people policies and procedures.
* Oversee the management of employee relations processes and procedures to facilitate effective management, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
* Conduct, oversee, and/or assist with employee relation issues to address concerns and grievances.
* Identify fair and inclusive processes.
* Ensure all legal HR paperwork is fully compliant.
* Provide support, thought partnership, and coaching to all levels of the company.
* Stay attuned to organisational and operational changes across the company to identify potential employee relations risks and develop proactive plans.
* Offer guidance and coaching to managers of all levels to address employee behaviour and performance.
* Provide guidance and assistance with the development and delivery of appropriate performance feedback or action plans, including corrective/disciplinary actions.
* Oversee the use of effective documentation techniques and maintain accurate, confidential records.
* Interpret and apply understanding of Legislation, Codes of Practice, and other regulations to provide guidance or clarification.
* Maintain the highest level of integrity.
* Develop and implement internal policies and procedures, for optimised work processes, ensuring regular review, updates, and communication.
* Ensure inclusivity in all employee communications.
* Coordinate the training of all Managers on HR Processes.
* Coordinate employee communication meetings.
* Collate, identify, and analyse survey data to inform decision-making processes.
* Be proactive in developing own skills and knowledge.
* Liaise with external consultants in the provision of training programmes and communication services.
* Provide regular reports to the Board of Directors/Senior Management Team.
* Provide guidance, support, and direction in handling employee relations issues.

Employee Engagement Manager - Qualifications/skills required to perform role:

Essential:


* A bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field is often required or CIPD qualified
* Strong understanding of UK employment law, regulations, and best practices, for effectively managing employee relations and communication.
* Proven experience in employee relations, including handling complex employee issues, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to effectively communicate policies, procedures, and initiatives to employees at all levels of the organisation.
* Experience in developing and implementing employee engagement initiatives, communication strategies, and training programmes.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends, assess risks, and develop proactive solutions.
* Leadership and team management skills, including the ability to mentor, coach, and support HR professionals and line managers.
* Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive employee information.
* Proficiency in HR software systems and tools.

Desirable:

* Previous experience in a similar HR role with a focus on employee relations, communication, and engagement, highly desirable.
* Experience working in diverse and multicultural environments, especially in large organisations or multinational companies.
