We are looking to recruit Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurses to join our critical care team on fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The successful individuals will be based at Wexham Park hospital.

We are looking for a dynamic, motivated team leader who is looking to join our Senior Team. We are looking to recruit Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurses to join our critical care team based on the Wexham site. The successful individuals will provide leadership, responsibility and accountability for the management of the Critical Care unit.

The post holder will be expected to support the Matron and Head of Nursing in delivering the Trusts Nursing agenda in ensuring that both local, cross site and national quality targets as well as key performance indicators are achieved.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure that the quality of patient care is the prime concern of all nursing staff working within the unit by:

Ensuring that a systemic approach to individualised care is practiced in the Unit and that nursing staff understand and adhere to the philosophy of the nursing process.

Ensuring that the Unit staff understand and meet the physicial and psychological needs of the patients and their relatives.

Ensure that work carried out in the Unit is within the Policies and procedures of the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust and also the Code of Professional Conduct of the NMC.

Exercising approved autonomous advanced nursing practice when appropriate.

To act as an excellent clinical nursing role model in the management of patients requiring critical care.

Ensure that the agreed standards and procedures are effectively adhered to.

Ensure that Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust Policy on care, custody and control of drugs is practiced.

To maintain own and others’ awareness of relevant research evidence relating to the critical care speciality and participate in applying this to practice.
