Global Policing Limited is recruiting passionate and experienced school-based mentors to join our team. We offer a rewarding opportunity to work directly with young people facing various challenges, including risk of exclusion, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, and disruptive behaviour.
Duties:
- Provide support and guidance to children and young people in various settings (travelling is required).
- Create and implement educational and recreational activities
- Foster positive relationships with children, their families, and other professionals
- Monitor and ensure the safety of children at all times
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop individualized plans for each child
- Offer emotional support and mentorship to children facing challenges
- Maintain accurate records of each child's progress
Skills:
- Experience working with children or youth in a professional setting
- Knowledge of youth work principles and practices
- Familiarity with special education needs and strategies
- Ability to educate and engage children in various subjects
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with diverse populations
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors
