The Data & Analytics (D&A) team support DWP’s operational, analytical and reporting needs while striving to improve citizen outcomes and Data Quality and Security. We ensure we maintain and transform our services to reduce fraud, error and debt and drive efficiency.

As a BA within Data & Analytics (D&A) you will work across the product delivery lifecycle embedded in our Integrated Risk and Intelligence Service (IRIS). IRIS develops innovative data science products to prevent and detect fraud and error. A BA will support the teams in understanding full product and business lifecycle from commission to delivery, applying Agile practices to achieve the right outcomes – translating user needs into deliverables and assisting in defining MVPs. Stakeholder management is also essential to get buy-in internally and externally to IRIS, as well as supporting in the development in a roadmap focusing on outcomes rather than solutions.

You will be given the opportunity to continue to grow your skills and knowledge through the support of the wider community of practice, additionally you will be, at times, responsible for managing more junior BAs.

As a BA working within DWP Digital these are some of the things you will be doing:

  • You will translate business problems and user needs into a set of detailed requirements to deliver value and great outcomes for our users.
  • You will lead workshops, interviews and focus groups and to effectively understand the business problems and user needs.
  • You will develop and maintain stakeholder relationships. communicating effectively across both technical and business stakeholders.
  • You will gain a good understanding of the business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service.
  • You will collaborate with the Product Owner to agree a suitable mix of epics, features & stories for each sprint, as well as contributing towards prioritisation activities.
