Pharmacy Operational Services Manager

Full Time (1.0 WTE)

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented pharmacy technician wishing to gain a breadth of experience as Pharmacy Operational Services Manager in a high performing Foundation Trust. With the vision, insight and self-motivation to lead the pharmacy procurement, logistics and distribution team in the delivery of service excellence, you will be joining the team at an exciting time as we look to embed recent changes and further transform our ways of working. The post holder will also be key to ensuring DCH maintains value for money with our medicines usage, and will closely support the Pharmacoeconomic agenda.

The Pharmacy Department has an MHRA wholesaler Dealers Authorisation (WDA) and this post holder will be a Responsible Person (RP) maintaining this. The WDA is key to support the Trust’s collaborative working arrangement with Dorset Healthcare University NHSFT. Previous experience of working in a department with a MHRA WDA is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will be a role model, inspiring and giving direction to our pharmacy technicians and pharmacy support workers that deliver a range of pharmacy operations. With extensive experience of pharmacy operations, you will have proven influencing and leadership skills with an ability to gain co-operation from staff and service users to achieve positive and timely outcomes to benefit patients.

As a key member of the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team you will work closely with and be supported by senior pharmacy colleagues and deputise for the Chief Pharmacist. Our collective aims are to promote a collaborative culture within pharmacy and with colleagues across the Trust, playing a significant part in ensuring pharmacy services develop strategically in line with the Trust’s objectives, including cost improvements and budgetary management.

You will have excellent organisational and leadership skills with energy and resilience to manage services in a changing and patient-focused climate. Your experience of a customer-centered approach will equip you for managing stakeholders’ expectations and service priorities. With strong communication skills, you will be able to lead from the front, promote positive values and develop staff to achieve their best.
