This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for Senior Cyber security Specialist who will play a major role with the technical design and development of company’s technical offerings. The role is based at our Leicester office with occasional assignments at client locations.
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities):
Develop and implement cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard the organization's information assets.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and risks in systems, networks, and applications.
Monitor and analyze security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
Deploy and manage security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and encryption mechanisms.
Conduct security awareness training and education programs for employees to promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into new and existing systems and applications.
Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to proactively mitigate risks and enhance security posture.
Respond to cybersecurity incidents and breaches by implementing incident response procedures and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
Perform regular security assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
Prepare and maintain documentation, reports, and dashboards related to cybersecurity activities and incidents.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are preferred.
Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Specialist or similar role, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, SIEM solutions, and vulnerability scanners.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and ISO 27001.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
